Tax, Forza Italia to the League: "New scrapping? First the Irpef cut for the middle class"

Tax, Forza Italia to the League: "New scrapping? First the Irpef cut for the middle class"

"Forza Italia's position on scrapping has always been very clear. We are in favor because we believe that in Italy there is a tax-citizen relationship that for too many years has been based on harassment . And when there are 60 million tax bills I don't think there are 60 million tax evaders because that would mean that all Italians are. But it means that there is a tax system that is bureaucratic, complicated and conflictual. And this is not good for the country". Alessandro Cattaneo, head of Departments of Forza Italia , interviewed by Affaritaliani.it , answers the question of whether the party led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani is in favor of the broad scrapping with 120 equal monthly installments relaunched yesterday by the League with Alberto Gusmeroli, president of the Finance Committee of the Chamber.

"Since the beginning of the government led by Giorgia Meloni, we have completely overturned the paradigm, we have already made several scrappings while still providing a reasonable perimeter of common sense. On the other hand, we have fought an unparalleled fight against tax evasion and in fact we have a record of recovery in the face of those, the left, who instead say that we wink at tax evaders and therefore continue on this path", underlines the blue exponent.

"With regard to the scrapping of the fifth installment, we are simply discussing within the government how much it could cost, because there is also an expensive issue , and we are simply discussing the priorities on which to allocate the money. Between the scrapping of the fifth installment and other initiatives such as the cut in Irpef for the middle class, Forza Italia has already expressed itself. We think that at this time the cut in Irpef should be done first . It is only a question of internal discussion, we will find a compromise. The idea is to do everything from now until the end of the legislature. We are simply saying that now is the time to give a signal to the middle class because it is the one that has been waiting the longest while we have done several scrappings . This does not mean that we disagree with the League's proposal, but it means that within a broad agenda that must be implemented throughout the legislature, Forza Italia gives this order of priority", concludes Cattaneo.
